Wanting parts that had been previously produced, rear wheels are mounted to 94-14 Corvette rear hubs/bearings which utilize factory emergency brake mechanism which include the brake shoe with cylinder and the disk with built in drum with a emergency brake handle out from Fiero. The handle had been chosen simply because of the folding feature and can be placed on the inner side of door sill and easily cover finished with trim.
The rear hub carrier / upright had been custom manufactured which has same
dimensions as GM factory Corvette uprights for mounting the hub and main
caliper. Having the same dimensions we are not locked down to limited
configurations of caliper combinations and are open to use anything from the
standard 12" to massive 15" disks. |
