Cluster display electronics has been divided into 2 main boards, display
board and power supply board which is mounted on back of display board. Third optional mezzanine security board mounted on back of power supply
which will provide security,
GPS position tracking and communication.
The display board is self contained system containing
visual indicators made of descrete and LED segments with central OLED
module ( meters, indicator lights, driver information LCD) all logic and
processor with both 33kb single wire CAN bus for all non essential communication
and a fast CAN bus for communication with ECM and other modules thus acting as
bridge in between low and high speed buses.
The board has connection for SD card can can be used for data logging and
analysis of engine performance and possible other data.
A switch board mounted on case of the instrument cluster will control various
aspects of cluster functions.
The power supply board, is just that. It provides regulated power to the display
and mezzanine boards depending on ignition key position. Current sensors provide
feedback to the display board for processing on how much power its using /
converting.
Mezzanine is strictly add on communication board which provides additional GPS sensor
as alternative speed and position tracking which in turn is used as part of
security system for geo tracking and communication.
