The rear center (bumper) is the upper part between the tail lights bolted to the
frame through rear quarter panels setting spacing for the engine deck lid and
keeping quarter panels at same distance. Due to the fact that it has mounting
tabs on each side the part is divided and made in 2 parts which then are bonded
together into single part. Not exactly sure where the license plate to be
located the rear ward facing surface was originally made flat. The cover also
houses mechanical components to lift and lower the wing. Bottom has removable
cover to protect mechanical and electrical components plus it acts as
aerodynamic component to the flowing air.
When the 2 parts are made the "C" part has non gel coated flanges which are used
as stiffening part to the piece and bonding surface to the top cover. They can
be bonded with fiberglass adhesive or fiberglass resin it self and in the engine
bay side the mating vertical sides are bonded with mat and resin to complete the
sides. All edges are trimmed to as close as possible to 90' and covered with gel
coat to hide the fiberglass strands so that they would not show through into the
paint.
More contents will be available as the part is
developed.
